Wildbush Art – Lou Wildish
I love the use of colour in healing and to make a statement piece that dominates or stands to attention.
My work is best known for the use of explosive colour and bold marks that create energy and narrative on the canvas.
I am an emotive painter using both movement flow from the body’s energy source, emotion and nature to influence and inspire my work. I like to explores the battles between mind and body, energy that comes and goes, and light and dark, and the metallic and white elements often signify hope.
The work has a spiritual feel and I like to create work that brings joy, a moment of brightness, an emotion, or connection. The power of colour can change a room, a mood, a thought to the viewer.
The potential for chaos and for it to all go wrong on the page in that moment when colours are fused is what excites me. I enjoy taking risks with colour – always influenced by energy, place, atmosphere and environment. The idea that there is a conflict, something problematic that needs resolving on the canvas, something that needs hope and resolution – the outcome is an equilibrium of colour.
