I am a relief printmaker, recently returned to Northamptonshire after living abroad for 8 years. My work approaches topics of identity, personal history and memories, and I find inspiration in old belongings, found objects and listening to peoples' stories. My love for printmaking was born out of my time living in Mexico, where I learnt most of what I know regarding the technique and its' various applications. The images included here are from a series of prints, collectively titled 'The Debris of Miss Irene', where I reworked some old photographs I bought in what we would describe as a flea market, in a southern district of Mexico City.
I am able to provide "graphic migration" relief printing workshops (easily transportable and without the necessity of a printing press), and my work is also available for sale. If you would like to inquire about the workshops I can provide, the work I have on offer, commissions or anything else of interest, please feel free to contact me via my email address (amyvikw@gmail.com) or through my social media (Instagram) account.
